چکیده

We show that intermittency of noiselike emission, after propagation through a scattering medium, affects the distribution of noise in the observed correlation function. Intermittency also affects correlation of noise among channels of the spectrum, but leaves the average spectrum, average correlation function, and distribution of noise among channels of the spectrum unchanged. Pulsars are examples of such sources: intermittent and affected by interstellar propagation. We assume that the source emits Gaussian white noise, modulated by a time-envelope. Propagation convolves the resulting time series with an impulse-response function that represents effects of dispersion, scattering, and absorption. We assume that this propagation kernel is shorter than the time for an observer to accumulate a single spectrum. We show that rapidly-varying intermittent emission tends to concentrate noise near the central lag of the correlation function. We derive mathematical expressions for this effect, in terms of the time envelope and the propagation kernel. We present examples, discuss effects of background noise, and compare our results with observations. Subject headings: methods: data analysis – techniques

Modulation Response and Relative Intensity Noise Spectra in Quantum Cascade Lasers

Static properties, relatively intensity noise and intensity modulation response in quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) studied theoretically in this paper. The present rate equations model consists of three equations for the electrons density in the conduction band and one equation for photons density in cavity length. Two equations were derived to calculate the noise and modulation response. Calcula...

Correlation Statistics of Spectrally-Varying Quantized Noise

I calculate the noise in the measured correlation functions and spectra of digitized, noiselike signals. In the spectral domain, the signals are drawn from a Gaussian distribution with variance that depends on frequency. Nearly all astrophysical signals have noiselike statistics of this type, many with important spectral variations. Observation and analysis of such signals at millimeter and lon...

A new method for Eosin preparation and examination of its absorption and emission spectra

Eosin is one of the original dyes of xanthenes derivatives. It is also one of the main derivatives of fluorescein and has brilliant fluorescence. Eosin disodium salt called "Eosin Y" is the most useful form of this compound. In common procedures, eosin is usually obtained by the action of bromine on fluorescein, which has not good yield and purity degree. In this research, it is prepared by the...

Modeling and Simulation of Substrate Noise in Mixed-Signal Circuits Applied to a Special VCO

The mixed-signal circuits with both analog and digital blocks on a single chip have wide applications in communication and RF circuits. Integrating these two blocks can cause serious problems especially in applications requiring fast digital circuits and high performance analog blocks. Fast switching in digital blocks generates a noise which can be introduced to analog circuits by the common su...

Resolving Spectra Overlapping Based on Net Analyte Signal for Simultaneous Spectrophotometric Determination of Fluoxetine and Sertraline

The net analyte signal standard addition method was used for simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of sertraline and fluoxetine in pharmaceutical preparations. The method combines the advantages of the standard addition method with the net analyte signal concept to enable the extraction of information about an analyte from the spectra of multi-component mixtures. This method uses full s...
